You will be allowed to repeat the class 1 time in case
you fail. You are also allowed to re-schedule your

FOOD WORKERS' CERTIFICATION CLASSES - Registration Information

1) You must be pre-registered to attend class. No late
registrations will be accepted. Please register at the Professional Development Center
registration office between 8 am - 4pm,
Monday - Friday.

2) You can also register through the mail for a food handlers' class. Just download the
registration form from our Website. Please clearly select the
class date you are interested in and mail with your payment to:

3) Each class is $29. We accept cash, check, VISA, MC or money order. Vouchers are allowed from programs that provide them. Please make all checks payable
to "SBCCD." If you are registering by mail you must pay by check, money order
or credit card. Please do not send cash in the mail.
A One-Day
Parking Permit is available for $1dollar.

4) The Food Worker class is 2 1/2 HOURS long. You
must be here on time. Late arrivals will not be allowed into the
classroom. Please bring a pen or pencil to write with.

5) If you have someone picking you up, please ask them to arrive 15
minutes ahead of time since the class may end early if we have a small
group. This is for your comfort and safety since you will be
waiting outside when the class finishes. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

6) If you obtain a passing score on the Food Worker exam, you will receive your Food Handlers Card on the day of your class. If you fail
the test, you can re-take the class once at no
additional cost.

7) Our classes average 25 participants and they usually sell out.
You need to register several days ahead of time to guarantee a seat for
the date you are interested in. If you wait until the day of the
class, more often than not, it will already be sold out!

8) If you are under 18 years of age you must have a parent or legal guardian sign the
registration form to allow you to take the class.

9) There are NO PUBLIC PHONES on the premises. While the class is in session
a phone is available should an emergency
arise. However, if you need to make a personal call, please
be sure to bring your own cell phone. The nearest public phone is at the
convenience store on the corner
of Third Street and Del Rosa Drive.

10) We also offer Food Worker classes that are taught in Spanish.
These classes also sell out quickly so please REGISTER EARLY!

listening to a pre-recorded message that addresses commonly asked questions. If you need further assistance,
please
leave your name and number at the end of the recording and someone will get back to you.

12) Though very rare, scheduled class dates may be cancelled.

FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT CLASSES - Registration Information

Please note:

1) You must register AT LEAST one week in advance for the class.

2) It is recommended that you read the Food Safety Management course book BEFORE attending the training.
-
3) Complete all assignments in the course book.
-
4) Passing score on test required to receive certification.
-
5) This class is for managers, operators and/or owners of food establishments.
At least 1 person from each food establishment must have taken the Food
Safety Management class.
