District Director, Economic Development and Corporate Training (EDCT):
As the district director, Dr. Isaac provides leadership for the administration,
development, marketing, management, and delivery of corporate training,
professional development and economic development programs and services
offered by the SBCCD through the Professional Development Center. He also
supervises the regional Center of Excellence that provides performance consulting
and economic development services for the 11 community colleges in Region
9. Before joining the PDC, Dr. Isaac held the position of director of the
Institute for Training and Development at Valley College and served as a
faculty member, department head, and divisional director at the University
of Toledo. He received an M.A. from Christ Church College and M.A., M.A.
Ed., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toledo, Ohio.
Marshall
Gartenlaub, Ph.D.

Initiative Director,
Applied Competitive Technologies. Dr. Gartenlaub leads the Centers
for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT) a California initiative of the
Economic and Workforce Development Program (EWDP). The CACT program
assists small and mid-sized engineering and manufacturing companies to remain
competitive in a rapidly changing global economy. A recognized leader, Dr.
Gartenlaub represents the community colleges nationally; holding chairs
in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the American Society for Quality.
He also heads the California VTEA Statewide Advisory Committee for Industry
and Technology programs. Dr. Gartenlaub has an extensive background
in business and industry having traversed from technically skilled jobs
to corporate boardrooms. He has held positions as maintenance mechanic,
supervisor, engineer, plant manager, corporate consultant, vice president
and up through general manager for some of America’s leading corporations.
Currently
Dr. Gartenlaub is Principle Investigator for the US Department of Labor
High Growth Initiative in Advanced Manufacturing having written and won
a $1.6 million dollar grant to train and certify nearly 500 workers in a
pilot project instituting nationally developed Advanced Manufacturing Skills
Standards in Southern California.
Kevin
Fleming, MBA

Director, Center of Excellence (COE): Kevin implements the objectives of the
COE and manages its operational functions. His responsibilities include
providing customized labor market research, environmental scans, and
technical assistance for the community colleges in the Desert Region to
assist them in program development, workforce training, strategic decision
making and resource enhancement. Mr. Fleming has over ten years experience
working in higher education at community colleges and both public and
private 4-year universities. Kevin holds two baccalaureate degrees from
Loyola Marymount University, a Masters in Educational Policy & Leadership
from The Ohio State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Redlands,
and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Educational Management at
Claremont Graduate University. He is regionally active with Sigma Phi
Epsilon Fraternity and serves on the national Board of Directors for One
in Four, Inc.
Zhenya
Lindstrom, M.A.

Interim Manager, Environmental Scanning Services: Zhenya serves the 55 community
colleges of Southern California by conducting regional and statewide business
analysis, screening labor market information and reporting emerging workforce
development opportunities, to which community colleges can respond. She
also assists Centers of Excellence in marketing to, and promoting partnership
opportunities between, businesses and the community colleges. Zhenya holds
a Master's Degree in Project Management with an emphasis in Marketing, and
has over five years of professional experience in marketing, management,
and marketing research. She has contributed to a number of projects within
an NGO and a business consulting company in a foreign country.
Ernestine
Warren, B.S.

Project Manager,
Manufacturing Skills Standards Training Certification (MSSTC). Ms.
Warren brings a wealth of knowledge, wisdom and experience to this position.
She has worked as a Nuclear Manager and Financial Analyst for the Department
of Defense for over 20 years. Ernestine has also served students as
a teaching assistant for San Bernardino Valley College. She holds
a Bachelors of Science Degree and has completed courses towards a Masters
Degree at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She is an active
member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority of the Inland Empire.
Robert

Program Coordinator, PDC:
Robert
brings an extensive background in workforce development to his position
as Program Coordinator for the Professional Development Center. Prior
experience includes working with legislative and accrediting agencies, strategic
planning, program development, community liaison, operations manager, grant
writer, staff development and regulatory compliance. In addition to
an M.P.A. received through California State University, Long Beach, Robert
holds a lifetime certification to serve as a Campus Director authorized
by the State of California Bureau for Private Post-Secondary and Vocational
Education.

Secretary II: Ms. Bender provides administrative secretarial support for
the Professional Development Center. She has worked within the educational
system for over 25 years. She has completed various courses in office management
and customer service.

Sandee Crane
Sandee instructs
the Food Handler Certificate class. She is our main instructor for
the San Bernardino mountain communities.

member at San Bernardino Valley College. Ms. Day instructs the Food
Handler Certificate class.
Jane L Evanson, Ph.D.
Professor, corporate trainer, award winning author of books and articles,
including a basic writing series, The Write Stuff. Jane brings
more than twenty-five years of experience in successfully guiding graduate
students through completion of advanced degrees in communications, human
resources, and education.
James Garcia, B.A.
Bilingual
Food Handler instructor with 13 years of experience. Mr. Garcia instructs
the Food Handler Certificate class.
Jillian
Haynal, B.A. Workshop Trainer:
Ms. Haynal is a USDA food safety workshop trainer. She is working
on her Master's degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Epidemiology
from Loma Linda University.
Jim Kawas
Owner/operator
of a computer sales and service center. Jim is a PDC information technology
instructor and professional with more than 15 years experience in the computer
repair and training field.
